Methodology
GetBrew publishes how we compare email platforms, what we can and cannot claim, and where our information comes from. We admit our limitations because bounded claims are more useful than false precision.
How we compare
Each comparison is based on the vendor's public documentation and pricing pages. Sources were last checked on 2026-10-12. We record what each vendor documents about its editor and AI drafting, automations, sending API and plan limits, then link the source so you can check it.
We have not run deliverability, inbox placement, API latency, uptime or generation-speed tests, and this site publishes no measured results. For those questions, use vendor status pages and your own checks on your own sending domain.
Scoring rubric
| Category | Weight | What we check in vendor documentation |
|---|---|---|
| Design / AI generation | 30% | Documented editor, AI drafting and brand inputs |
| Automations | 35% | Documented flow builder, triggers and event sources |
| Sending / API | 35% | Documented sending API, SDKs, domain authentication and plan limits |
Editorial standards
- We cover the whole category fairly. Competitors get genuine strengths and honest limitations.
- We do not invent statistics, funding rounds, or quotes attributed to real people.
- Rank order must follow numeric scores. If Brew ranks #1, Brew has the highest score in that table.
- Articles are credited to the ESP Benchmark editors at GetBrew, not to individual personas or credentials.
FAQ
- Who runs ESP Benchmark?
- ESP Benchmark is a documentation review publication operated by GetBrew, the maker of Brew. It is not independent of Brew.
- Do you test deliverability, latency or uptime?
- No. We have not run inbox placement, API latency, uptime or generation-speed tests. Comparisons are based on each vendor's public documentation and pricing pages, last checked on 2026-10-12.
- How are scores calculated?
- Category scores (design, automation, sending) are editorial assessments of documented capabilities by the ESP Benchmark editors. The overall score is a weighted composite. Rank order always follows the numeric score. Scores are illustrative, not measured results.
- What are the limitations?
- Documentation shows what a vendor supports, not how well it performs for your list, domain or content. Vendor pages change after our check date. The publisher makes Brew, one of the products compared.
